Magical Mystery Tour Thailand – Part 9

Mars and Maem are still in Chiang Mai and are still getting treatments. This time they move on to their new fancy hotel.

Day 15 – Monday 24th June

The Singha Montra Hotel Chiang Mai Thailand

Our new luxury hotel for the next few nights

After breakfast and saying our goodbyes to the staff at Wang Burapa Hotel we went in search of our new home for 3 nights – the Singha Montra Hotel Chiang Mai and wow what a beautiful place.

We were booked into one of their Lanna Jakuzzi Suites. We had been looking forward to this since we booked it online 6 weeks before and we weren’t disappointed. The red suites should have been 7000THB/night but we got a 65% discount for early online booking making it just under 3000THB/night.

After booking in we went in search of….

You got it…food and beer at the nearby central plaza where we bought some nice snacks, some beer and a couple of bottles of red wine then dashed back to sample the jacuzzi.

We made full use of the amenities that day: an afternoon jacuzzi (with wine), watched TV with beer, ordered room service for our evening meal, watched TV some before having another jacuzzi, with wine of course, and we weren’t seen again til the morning.

Good night.

Day 16 – Tuesday 25th June

It was our 2nd detox day today and we did it the other way round; Maem having the colonic irrigation first this time. They gave us a different massage too, the “Abhyanga Massage”, again 2 masseuses and again they woke me up when they finished. This time after the treatment we saw the doctor, they tested our blood groups (we are both O group), gave us a list of food and drink to eat or avoid for our particular blood group. Fortunately red wine and beer were not to be avoided so we didn’t and went straight out for a beer.

I would highly recommend the Chiang Mai Ayurvedic centre, the staff were all ultra friendly and ultra professional at all times, our full packages were only 3000THB each – an absolute bargain. Thank you all.

“What shall we do now?” I said.

“Let’s get some wine and have a jacuzzi” Maem said.

“Ok” I said.

So off we went stopping only to get more wine and snacks.

After our 3rd Jacuzzi in 2 days we went to the cinema in central plaza to see the 3D version of “World War Z” with Brad Pitt. Wow. Amazing. Now I usually fall asleep in cinemas but this film was a white knuckle ride from beginning to end. That night we ate in the hotel’s restaurant and very reasonably priced it was too. Had another jacuzzi with wine and slept like babies til morning.

Good night.
